Eagle & Child

A great new pub on a lovely street. This is a fantastic three storey building full of interesting spaces. It is owned by the Leeds brewery who also have a pub in King’s Square. The food here is good, hearty pub food, things like steaks, pies and fish finger sandwiches. I have eaten here several times (to date!) and the portions are generous with good chips and great real ales to wash them down with.

They also have a beer garden at the back of the pub for al fresco drinking.

There are 4 floors including the ground floor. When you sit on the third floor by the windows at the front there is a fabulous view of the ancient roof tops. In the background is York Minster.
